Why only garage doors
Almost every garage door call in San Diego comes down to the same handful of parts: two torsion springs, two lift cables, a set of rollers, an opener gear or trolley, a pair of safety sensors. Doing those jobs all day means the truck carries springs in the common sizes for a 1988 steel door and a 2015 insulated one, we know which opener takes which gear kit from a photo of the motor head, and we finish in one visit instead of a diagnosis visit and a parts visit.
It also means we are honest about scope. A dented section gets measured and quoted. A door that is rusted through or rotted gets referred to a licensed contractor for replacement. If a repair is not worth it, we say so.
How we work
-
Straight diagnosis
We check the springs, the cables, the balance and the opener and tell you which one is the problem. No upsell to a new door.
-
The whole price, by text
You see the total before we drive over, and the number in the driveway is the same number.
-
Done right, once
The right spring for the door weight, cables seated on the drums, a door that balances by hand and an opener set to the limits it should have.
-
You run the door
You open and close it yourself, by hand and by opener, before we pack up.
Licensing and trust
We are not a licensed contractor. Garage door repairs under $1,000 in labor and materials do not require a California contractor license (Business and Professions Code section 7048), and we stay inside that line. A new garage door is a job for a licensed contractor, and we say so.
That keeps the work to repairs on the door you have: no permit work and no new doors. Anything bigger gets a straight referral.
You get photo ID at the door, the price before any work starts, and the same number in a text.
Meet the technician
Niv, owner and lead technician: I answer the phone and I do the work. If your door needs a part I do not carry, I tell you before I drive out.
I care about the details that only show up when they are wrong. Springs sized to the door, not the nearest size on the shelf. A door that stays put at waist height with the opener disconnected. Sensors that are aligned, not propped. If it is not right, I am not done.
I explain what the door needs in plain English and let you decide, instead of selling hardware the door does not need. Often that means springs and cables instead of a new door, and I will tell you so.
